- Is there a way to tell if a serial port is operational? Com 1 works fine with
- the mouse but my external modem will not work in Com 2. Using trumphet
- winsock, it appears to see the modem (doesn't say "hardware not present") but
- won't dial through a scripit or even allow keystrokes from manual dial-in.
- When I unplug the modem, trumphet still seems to see something coming from
- Com-2. I switched my mouse to Com2 and the modem to Com -1. The modem worked
- fine through Trumphet but no mouse!!
- I tried to switch COM2 address in Windows-Set-up-Ports from 2f8 to another
- address but each time I hit the "restart to make changes", Windows restarted
- but Comm2 stayed in 2f8!!
-
- Any ideas? Either something else is interfering with COmm2 or its not
- operational but why would trumphet not say "hardware not present?"
-
- I have an internal Boca modem which works fine in either Comm 3 or 4. NO
- change in Comm2 regardless of which port I use for the internal. At one time
- I physically removed the internal modem to see if the external would then
- work. Still no luck.
